Should i go to clarkson university

Prospective students should talk to teachers, coaches or employers who know them well. It will probably be easier to get into Clarkson than schools such as Lehigh, Stevens or Rensselaer if you have the right grades and recommendations. But if you get past the freshman and sophomore year, the experience will be more personal than or would be at most business and engineering schools. Obviously, you want to see students borrow less, but students who graduated from Home State U have owed more.

Payscale ranks Clarkson among the top 35 colleges in the country for early and mid-career earnings. The university also reports that one in five alumni are a CEO, senior executive or owner of a company.

At present 60 percent of Clarkson students come from New York State. These regions are trying to grow as technology centers. Clarkson is one of a select number of target schools that work with General Electric. It is also one of the smallest schools that offers co-op during the academic year as well as summer internships. Clearly, the school will be as helpful, possibly more, than a mid-sized tech-focused school that is more research based such as Rensselaer that has graduate students on the main campus.

Need help on the journey to college? Here it is: when you send ACT scores to colleges, you have absolute control over which tests you send. You could take 10 tests, and only send your highest one. This is unlike the SAT, where many schools require you to send all your tests ever taken.

This means that you have more chances than you think to improve your ACT score. To try to aim for the school's ACT requirement of 24 and above, you should try to take the ACT as many times as you can. When you have the final score that you're happy with, you can then send only that score to all your schools. By and large, most colleges do not superscore the ACT.

Superscore means that the school takes your best section scores from all the test dates you submit, and then combines them into the best possible composite score.

Thus, most schools will just take your highest ACT score from a single sitting. We weren't able to find the school's exact ACT policy, which most likely means that it does not Superscore. Regardless, you can choose your single best ACT score to send in to Clarkson University, so you should prep until you reach our recommended target ACT score of This guide was written by Harvard graduates and ACT perfect scorers.

You don't need to worry too much about Writing for this school, but other schools you're applying to may require it. Schools vary in their SAT subject test requirements. My frost challenge with Clarkson was them only taking 12 out of my 60 credits towards my biology major. I knew not everything would transfer but 12 really? But I decided to stick it out to see how I would like studying here. These people and the fact that I would spend 4 additional years as an undergrad made me change my major to Political science.

From there the professors and the material were relatively interesting. The material was not conceptually challenging by any means, but the volume of work outside of readings , was questionable.

In fact I am sitting here now, doing an assignment that does not add or subtract to my education. The stressful environment here does not come from the professors or the material, it comes from the isolationism, sexist, and dog eat dog mentality. No wonder this place is depressed.

I came here with a 3. I left my first semester at Clarkson with a 1. Not one person has gotten ahold of me about this, I am at academic warning. This school has a lot of pointless hoops you have to jump through in order to be fine.

Some of the best experiences our undergraduate students have while at Clarkson aren't actually at Clarkson - internships, co-ops and studying abroad.
