All other bosses are required to get to Yogg. Comment by I have found that one of the really great things about this instance, is the trash mob fights. Around almost every corner you will find different trash mobs, with unique abilities that sometimes require innovative strategies to defeat. It really does make grinding the trash in between boss fights more worthwhile.
Comment by Grehan I love the music in Ulduar. I really think that Blizzard did a great job with giving zones unique music in WotLK. Comment by This place is fun to do, but after a few times in there, it gets really boring, i hope blizzard does better with the next patch. Comment by Our raid had a blast when we got to the train. It was definitely the coolest part of the instance. Sure, it's just a train, but it's sooooo coooool!
Comment by What happened between Wrathgate and Ulduar. Comment by drgnpcarl I have to say, this is the most beautiful area in the whole game. While you are running this it is really great ot just look around at the scenery. Comment by tmilhomens "When the world was sundered by the Well of Eternity's implosion, the earthen were deeply affected.
Reeling with the pain of the earth itself, the earthen lost much of their identity and sealed themselves within the stone chambers where they were first created. Uldaman, Uldum, Ulduar Buried deep beneath the world, the earthen rested in peace for nearly eight thousand years.
Comment by Since 3. If you are un fortunate enough to get into a pug, be ready for members to start dropping from as soon as Ignis to as far as Yoggy. Edit: Even though it may be hard to find a good group, the experience is like no other. Comment by azngamer Me: Kologarn what is your favorite Elder Scrolls game? Comment by jaq To anyone who thinks Ulduar is now redundant because of the changes in 3. Yes, you can get better gear now by going emblem farming then into TotC. You know what that means?
You can raid Ulduar for fun now. Ulduar is far and away the best raid in the game for the story and lore aspects. You're fighting what amounts to the Norse gods in their own high tech Asgard, which has been taken over by eldritch horrors out of H. P Lovecraft. The fights have a wide variety in strategy and even trash requires a certain amount of care.
The zone itself is awe-inspiring and gorgeous-it's stunning even from the outside. If you think Ulduar shouldn't be run because you can get Emblems of Conquest from heroics, well, your perspective and mine are different. Ulduar might be redundant for the purposes of gearing the way some people want to do it, but it's still far and away the best raid in the game, and even the arrival of Icecrown Citadel won't stop me from going back there.
Comment by mixter this place drops t8 on 10 man not t9. Comment by warheal80 I think blizz should of made ulduar come out before icecrown and toc before since gear here isnt as good anymore but much more funner to do then toc. Comment by Voice emotes for most ulduar bosses Here are so things said when the emotes are typed.
Aw, I promise I wont break then this time! Very ba-a-a-a-ad Kologarn -Aggro: None shall pass! Death: Master Auraiya -Aggro: Some things are better left alone! Stealbreaker -Aggro: You will not defeat the assembly of iron so easily! General Vezax -Death: Ahahahaha Algalon the Observer -Aggro: Your actions are illogical, all possible outcomes for this encounter have been calculated, the Patheon will receive the observers message regardless of outcome -Space: See your world through my eyes, a universe so vast as to be immesurable, incomprehensible, even to your greatest minds -Slay I do what I must -Slay Loss of life, unavoidable -Special Witness the fury of the cosmos!
A million, million lives wasted, had they all held within them your tenacity, had they all loved life as you do!
Long i know -Death Perhaps it is your imperfection, that which grants you free will allows you to perservere against all cosmically calculated odds. You prevail where the titans own perfect creations There are more, really cool ones but I cant for the life of me remember what the action is : Some of these may not work, if they dont try adding a 01, 02, or 03 at the end of the action.
Another thing, no spaces if you put Algalons name as Algalon the Observer, it wont work, it must be AlgalonTheObserver.
If it still doesn't work i proabably made a typo. Comment by rebellion Sunwell Plateau was introduced after Black Temple most epic instance in BC ;at least the ilvl was apropiate. Comment by Tenjen the best raid since Kara and quite more epic and a richer experience. Challenging and fun and unique. It was great. Comment by zingar wow achievements in this zone alone is crazy compared to the new cata raid dungeons with achievements only.
Comment by Random One of my favourite raids and definitely the best raid in Wotlk! Comment by Hijjiup Best raid Comment by Xkiller Man I can go on and on with this instance. I'll try to keep it short. I love looking up in the Conservatory of Life and just stare, its amazing. Also, as you start the Algalon fight, the animation that plays is truly a sight.
Second, the music, the background music is so, I guess calming and makes me never want to end the raid. The ambiance is truly fun provoking. My favorite ambiance sounds is in the Spark of Imagination, the zone with Mimiron. Third, the encounters are just plain fun.
The first fight is one of a kind as well as Razorscale. XT Demonstructor is just funny. Iron Council remind me of the Four Horsemen encounter in Naxxramas.
Kologarn is just, only words I can find is entertaining. I love how on Hodir you have the allies and the rare cache. Freya is another great one, how she has low health but keeps healing and as you kill the adds she losses the healing buff. Thorim, ah I miss this one. I love going through the hallway and getting to him as fast as we can. Now, Mimiron, one of the most, active, boss ever.
I love how he uses 3 different machines he made and then puts them together in the end, his voice makes is that much better too. General Vezax, what a unique fight. The fact that there is no mana regeneration in any way makes it so much fun, well maybe not for mana users, but as a death knight, it is. Now, Yogg-Saron, it's just one hell of a fight. One thing I love is that fact that you get these cool buffs from the keepers, not just stats and stuff, actual abilities like Ice Block and Sanity Well, Mimiron actually slows the enemies attacks and Thorim stuns them!
I love going into the brain room and seeing how the Lich King fights this other guy and how its showing how Stormwind City will fall. I love everything about this place, I do full clears on all 4 of my 85s every weekend and have 10 and 25 Glory achievements on them all.
Not like what they did to Zul'Aman and Zul'Gurub. Comment by Currently seeing how much of this is "Solo-able" Ran with an iLvl Ele Shaman. Oh the pain.. I know Naxx is a faceroll but I am interested in running Ulduar as well for Mog gear.
Comment by So why does a lower level item drop in an area I can't even get into yet,,,, That makes no sense, Ohh Right, this is Blizzard Comment by Betonkocka My lvl90 paladin is missing only 1 achievement in Ulduar - the don't step on land mines with Mimiron. It is easier to ask for help if the way is clear to the boss; so I decided to try to solo clear the way up to him. Item level is , retribution. I was only food buffed, no flask. I killed all bosses on the most simply way; no hard mode.
Flame Levi: the trash towards him was easy; I took a demo and shot the small and big adds from far distance. I destroyed the portals. Boss was easy; when he was pursuing me, I was driving away, the rest of the fight just duelling. I shot all the bombs or what is the name button 2 , plus I was shooting him with the normal attack button 1 and with ram button 3 when he was too close. Ignis: does not need to be killed, but he was the weekly raid quest in Dalaran; so I had to try him.
Popped all CDs and burned him down. Ignored adds. With some self heal it worked. Razorscale: doesn't need to be killed, but I killed. Just kill the adds, they go down in 1 second, shot the 2 harpoons, burn CDs, try not to stand in front of him. And he is dead. With our dps now, he won't fly back to the air. XT Actually, he killed me, as I accidentally killed the heart. Best if we don't touch the heart at all. During heart phase just kill the small bots or shot the boombot who will explode the little ones.
This is the only trick. Don't even need CDs, as the burning phase is interrupted with the heart phase when we should not touch the boss. Assembly of Iron: I killed the big dude first, than the middle and the small for last. Here, I needed self heal word of glory and flash heal when it was instant cast. If I wanted to show or type out how to do it solo, I'm quite sure I would have stated that in the title.
And if you want to call it a repost, with this exact way of doing it than please- Find the link. You obviously don't know what a Repost is.
A repost is if someone a week ago, came in typed out a VERY similar method of 2-Manning the Flame Leviathan and I came in yesterday saying the same thing. Originally Posted by Vyre. Sorry to hear that! We'd like to know what's wrong. Please check any which apply: This information isn't relevant to my issue.
This article is unclear or poorly written. I have tried the suggested steps but they didn't work. I'm frustrated by Blizzard's process or policy.
In hard mode, all other sources of damage can be ignored, as long as the Demolishers keep the pyrite stacks rolling. To make this possible, the Demolisher gunners must supply their drivers with pyrite. They must shoot it from the sky, and collect it with Grab Crate. The drivers must move so that they are close to pyrite on the ground. Demolisher gunners can load themselves into the Demolisher's main catapult.
The driver can then launch them so that they land on top of Flame Leviathan, near one of the Leviathan Defense Turrets. There are 2 turrets in player mode, 4 in player. Once the launched player lands atop the Leviathan he will be unable to move and will only be able to melee the turret closest to him. Ranged classes can reach all turrets, so ranged DPS classes are almost always the ones thrown.
The turrets will defend themselves with a flame attack, which while not powerful can be problematic. The players may eject at any time to be parachuted the ground, although doing so before the Leviathan shuts down is often fatal due to the Leviathan's constant AoE. Players can then jump back into vehicles. Motorcycles, with their sidecars empty, can easily pick up former gunners and ferry them back to their Demolisher seat.
Shutdown is a highly desirable state, but shooting a Demolisher gunner means he no longer gathers pyrite for that Demolisher. A Demolisher can store enough pyrite for 10 shots.
If the driver is conservative and shoots only once every 9 seconds just so the debuff stays up, the stock lasts a minute and more, which is in theory ample time for the gunner to destroy the turrets and resume collecting pyrite.
In practise, drivers like to have a twitchy trigger finger, and collecting pyrite requires manoeuvering, so it may in effect take longer and the pyrite stack goes down. Another idea is to assign two gunners to some demolishers. Prior to pulling the boss, one player can preload in the demolisher gun, and a second player can man the gun. In that state, the preloaded player can be launched, while the demolisher retains a gunner to keep up the pyrite supply.
After the first shutdown is over, the second player can load himself, and he can be launched as soon as shutdown is over, even before the first player is brought back to the demolisher.
In 10 player, one chopper is not used, and that player is used as second gunner in one demolisher. In 25 player, various combinations are possible. If two damage dealers are enough to bring all turrets down fast enough, two choppers can be abandoned and two demolishers get a second gunner. If three damage dealers are needed, one chopper and one Siege Engine are left empty.
This was thought to be a bug, but was confirmed to be working as intended. Currently drivers of Demolishers can no longer change seats to either hook their own Pyrite or use the Speed Boost. Upon changing seats via clicking the open space or change seat key binding , the Demolisher sometimes despawns and the player then dies from Flame Leviathan's AoE effects. It has been reported that if somebody in the raid group pulls the Flame Leviathan while others are left behind the barrier, the boss may go through the barrier and be killed outside anywhere in the instance.
After going through the barrier it may attack empty vehicles and players entering the instance while not in combat. Be advised though, that this is considered an exploit and a bannable offense.
The fix may have been to prevent this glitch and to provide a soft reset for this boss should a vehicle be accidentally left behind the barrier. Leaving towers up for hard mode rewards progressively better loot.
Flame Leviathan also has a standard Heroic Ulduar Boss chance of dropping a runed orb, a crafting recipe, and a Fragment of Val'anyr. It has been confirmed that you can have multiple recipes and runed orbs.
